You’ve definitely never seen Tom Hanks like this before! The A-list actor is the latest star to jump to the Great White Way, making his Broadway debut in Nora Ephron’s Lucky Guy. That means Hanks is also the latest person to get the Broadway Ink treatment from our resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson, who offers up this dazzling take on Hanks’ mammoth onstage presence as tabloid columnist Mike McAlary. Also in the portrait are (clockwise from Hanks) Maura Tierney, Courtney B. Vance, Peter Gerety, Richard Masur, Christopher McDonald, Peter Scolari, Danny Mastrogiorgio and Michael Gaston. To see how Squigs’ sketch compares to the real thing, check out Lucky Guy at the Broadhurst Theatre!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
